UDMAX Tapes is a producer of thermoplastic unidirectional composite tapes within Özer. Our proprietary High Pressure Fibre Impregnation Technology, HPFIT®, delivers lightweight solutions that make economic sense.
We combine optimal fibre spreading with a resin-rich surface layer at high fibre contents. Our materials serve applications requiring strength and stiffness, with processing routes suited to mass production.

Our patented High Pressure Fibre Impregnation Technology combines optimal fibre spreading with thorough thermoplastic resin impregnation, even at high fibre contents.
HPFIT® creates resin-rich layers on both the upper and lower surfaces of the tape. During lamination, this surface resin supports fusion between compatible thermoplastic layers, consolidation and interlayer bonding.

Processing solutions
Adhesive-free thermal lamination
Filament winding with thermoplastic tapes
After slitting, UDMAX® tapes are unwound and wrapped around a rotating pipe mandrel or vessel liner. Heat fuses the thermoplastic surfaces together, while roller pressure consolidates each layer. No adhesive is used.
Double belt press lamination
UDMAX® tape or crossply skins unwind from the upper and lower rolls, while the selected core enters through the central feed table. Thermal fusion bonds the compatible layers in a double belt press, with pressure and cooling forming the sandwich panel. No adhesive is used.

UDMAX® tape laminates and composite skins can be used to develop truck and trailer body panels and formed exterior components. The image highlights six potential application areas.
UDMAX® composite skins combined with a compatible lightweight core for cargo-box sidewalls and trailer body panels. Large exterior surfaces provide space for vehicle branding.

UD tapes up to 560 mm wide are placed side by side to create layers up to 3.2 m wide. Lay-ups of up to 12 layers can be arranged at 0°, 90° and 45° to the customer’s specification.

UD tapes up to 560 mm wide can be slit longitudinally into 5–25 mm widths and rewound in parallel or cross-wound formats. Available roll length depends on the grade and winding specification.

Lamination, weaving, crossply, tape winding, compression and hybrid moulding, grid manufacturing and 2D cutting provide routes from reinforcement to finished parts.
